The RRA would like to draw your attention to the sterling work undertaken by the Dodder Action Group (www.dodderactiondublin.com).  The group was formed three years ago to build a community along the River Dodder to maximise its potential as a wonderful resource for all to enjoy. The prevention of litter act 1997

We came across an interesting section of the The prevention of litter act 1997 (full copy of the bye-law linked to below) which places an onus on owners of private property to maintain a clean and clear area free of litter. We draw your attention specifically to Section 3 of part 2 of the act which requires the owner or occupier of a property which has an outdoor area visible from a public place to keep such an area free of litter. Building work has begun on the “Marianella” site - Orwell Road

Work has commenced on the redevelopment of the Marianella site which will see the demolition of the Redemptorist monastery and the construction of some 240/250 apartments and houses. It is likely that work will continue for a period of two years. The Association has set a in place a liaison group which will regularly meet with the developer (Cairn Homes www.cairnhomes.ie). Building on the Redemptorists Site (“Marianella”) - 75 Orwell Road Rathgar

Building work has commenced on the development of this site in recent weeks. The Rathgar Walking Trail launches Sat 26th Sept 2pm in Rathgar

Join us for the launch of the Rathgar Walking Trail with historian Pat Liddy.  The tour will last approximately 90 minutes and will be a lively and envigorating walk through the history of our area.  Tour departs from Herzog Park (behind the AIB in Rathgar Village) on Saturday 26th September at 2pm. The Rathgar Walking Trail Map & Guide has been produced by the Rathgar Residents Association and Dublin City Council.
