Following the local elections on 23rd May next, the new Dublin City councillors will only have four months to make up their minds on whether to decrease or increase the rate of local property tax. According to a report in the Irish Times on 21st March, the Revenue Commissioners will write all city and county councils to ask if they intend to exercise their right to vary the tax by up to 15% from next year.
